And you’re saying, NO S*** Sherlock, you’re a bit too late lady! Yeah, yeah, I know – but, the Holidays happened, and I was SWAMPED! So I’m doing this NOW. It’s never too late!
So, the Gutenberg editor is here and I said I would test Gutenberg out and write up a tutorial, back on this post. And I did, however, a few items MAY have changed since I wrote it. If you are willing to give Gutenberg a try, this tutorial will help, just some items might not match exactly because as I was writing the tutorial the creators were adding and changing and updating, I couldn’t keep up. But you’ll get the gist.
A NOTE: As I was testing Gutenberg and writing the tutorial, I did end up “liking” it, I can see the HUGE potential. However, as of right now, I’m still using the Classic Editor and will maybe give Gutenberg my full attention at a later time.

The Classic Editor
Now, if you DO NOT want to learn or have anything to do with the Gutenberg editor, no problem, I had those same sentiments before I started testing it and writing the tutorial. You can KEEP the Classic editor and keep using it like Gutenberg doesn’t exist. Here’s how:
- Go to: Plugins/Add New
- Search for Classic Editor by WordPress Contributors
- Click Install Now
- Click Activate
And that is it! You will now be able to continue to use the Classic Editor as you have been.
