What’s scary this time of year? Goblins, Ghosts, Ghouls, and oh, WordPress Security!
At the very least, please keep your Genesis Framework, the WordPress software, and all installed plugins updated. What I don’t like is log into a client’s dashboard and see that 13 plugins need to be updated. Even if it’s just 5 plugins, that drives me nuts! Did you know that one of the reasons plugin developers put out updates is because there are security vulnerabilities? Yes, and hackers can use those vulnerabilities to hack your site, little or big, you ARE prey!
When you are updating, it’s best to do them in the correct order as I wrote on this blog. Basically, if you have WordPress, the Genesis Framework and some plugins to update, do them in this order: The Genesis Framework, WordPress, and any Plugins.
One of the best things you can do right now is to update, but another thing is to subscribe to the Sucuri Blog. They put out really great articles to keep you updated on all things security for your WordPress blog or website. You can learn alot from them. Go.. Subscribe TODAY!
